I had purchased a Wacom drawing tablet for $69. It was for my sister and I expected it to go through the whole wear and tear deal fast. I decided I wanted to get a warranty for it just in case. I saw SquareTrade as the warranty options, which I have neverd heard of before, so I looked up the reviews. There were a lot of reviews and the general satisfaction was all over the place. Some people loved it, and some people called it a scam. I decided to gamble on it and purchase a 3 year warranty.
A little bit more than a year later and the usb connector became loose and wouldn't connect unless it was held tightly. I went to file a claim on the SquareTrade website and after a few minutes of filling out information, they emailed me a shipping label. I sent my item to them and within a few days I received a check with the full item value in the mail (although you can choose Amazon gift card or paypal for the money to arrive faster).
Bottom line, I have had a good experience from them and I will purchase more warranties from them in the future.

Did not follow through on purchased warranty
When I purchased a TV bulb/lamp two years ago, the offer for the warranty popped up, and I ordered it. Fast forward two years, the lamp has died, and I contacted Square Trade for fulfillment on the warranty, only to be told they don't cover bulbs/lamps. My warranty payment would be refunded. I have to wonder how many other people purchase the warranty on the product they purchased, never need to use it, and Square Trade keeps the money for a warranty that was issued "in error" (their words). Whether this was a genuine error (seems to me if they advertise it on a certain product, they know what the product is) or not (I'm afraid I suspect not), I will never purchase a warranty from this company again.

I purchased this extended warranty for a lamp for my big screen tv. When the lamp went out within 3 months of purchasing it, I contacted Amazon and was told it was more than 30 days. I contacted Square Trade to start a claim and was told it was a manufacturer warranty. Contacted the manufacturer and they had no record of the lamp I purchased. I then contacted the seller and was told that they couldn't help me. I definitely got the run around with this company. Finally contacted Amazon and was given a refund for everything for this lamp and this horrible plan. Thank you for nothing.
