4I am very pleased
By Marjo Wycam
I initially bought a Helio because of the price, but I am thrilled with it. One great feature is that three buttons on the front are configurable. You can set the Helio up so that pushing one of these buttons turns on the machine and goes directly to whichever application it was configured for.
Another feature which I like is that I can synch it automatically with my Microsoft Outlook program on my desktop. Outlook Notes become Memos, etc.
The price makes this product almost a no-brainer, unless there is a specific Palm or Handspring application you want to use. (Basically there are very few add-on apps for the Helio.) A Palm with 8MB costs about $250. A Helio with 8MB costs $150.
Best of all, the Helio looks cool. I own the clear model (which is no longer available on Amazon) and a co-worker was raving about how good it looks.
The handwriting recognition program is usually easier than Palm's in that the letters such as lowercase 'a' more closely resemble the way one normally writes. There is one problem: I cannot tell from the documentation how I am supposed to write the letter 'k'. The symbol for the 'k' seems complicated and I am doing something wrong.
Even so, it was the right choice for me.

4For the electronicly challenged
By KW3092
I have to admit that I am among those out there who are electronic challanged and have given up hope, until now. I bought the Helio with the hopes of being able to use the phone book and the calculator and have found it easy to use the rest of the applications as well. I was even able to install the needed programs into my computer. The only draw back is that it did not come with a printed manual, just a quick start reference, so I ended up making memos on how to do certain tasks. But if you are like me and alittle overwhelmed by most modern technology you will probably find this helpful, compact and easy to use. It also backs up your files into your PC easily just in case.

1I've been disapointed !
By Kindle Customer
Very, Very, Very raw device with very adventure OS and application. I've bought it due to of wide range of announced abilities, but the software is unreliable and every 20 min crashed the Helio. The Helio kill batteries in 1 day using. The synchronization process stupid and works exactly like other Helio application.END
