5My favorite handheld of many tried
By reviewer
I tested many hydration systems while training for a marathon. Of the many bottle waistpacks, hydration belts, and handhelds I tried, this was my favorite. With handhelds, I prefer to wear the bottle on the outside of my hand rather than within my palm so as to leave my hand and fingers free for accessing my belt, opening gels, etc. I contacted Amphipod customer service (after trying both the Jett-Lite and Hydrostrobe handhelds) to ask if the Ergo-Lite could be worn in this way, and they responded after testing it that yes, it would work this way. Therefore I insert the bottle in the sleeve backwards and wear it on the outside of my hand so that it still faces me and fits the curve of the outside of my hand. It is very secure and comfortable. The pocket is very small, just big enough to fit a gel or a key fob, but I use a waistbelt, so that was not inconvenient for my purposes. During the marathon, it was a bit inconvenient to have to stop more frequently to refill this small bottle at water stations, so I will be testing the 16 oz version soon. I have found 20 oz bottles to be too heavy for my comfort when running long distances, so hopefully the 16 oz is a nice compromise.

This container is comfortable against my hand and it allows it to sweat on the fabric and wick it away. You can adjust the comfort with the strap on the bottom of the bottle. The zippered area holds one package of Cliff Blocks if taken out of the package. I use this on my 10k runs or where I may hot and need fluids. I have not encountered any leaks and this item works well in action. I have recommended this bottle to friends.

This is my first handheld, so there is not much I can compare it to.

However, I can say I like how a running gel fits neatly into the zippered pouch on the handle. It also lives up to its Ergo-Lite modifier.

An improvement to the product I'd like to suggest is working on the fit. Often I have to work to get the cover on in such a way that does not create a gap between the bottle and the lid at the top. If I don't spend the extra time wrangling this, it leaks quite a bit, which gets frustrating.
