One-touch controls on the CS510 Wireless Headset allow you to answer or end calls and adjust or mute the volume. The system also enables you to conference in up to three additional headsets for easier collaboration. The headset comes equipped with DECT 6.0 technology that allows you to talk hands free up to 350 feet away from the base.
In addition to DECT technology, the CS510 offers wideband audio for clearer phone conversations. The headset's noise-canceling microphone filters out background noise and enhanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) makes voices sound more clear and natural.
A sleek magnetic charging base is included with the CS510. An adaptive power system optimizes for range and talk time by automatically downshifting to low power when the headset is close to the base to save battery life.
Plantronics also offers the HL10 Handset Lifter (sold separately) which can be attached to your desk/office phone to complete your cordless headset system. The HL10 lifts up and replaces the handset so you don't have to be at your desk to answer the phone or to hang up.
The headset weighs 72 grams and offers up to nine hours of talk time on one battery charge.
The CS510 Wireless Headset is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

Works on any home phone with a headphone jack IF...
By Gary E. Peterson
This headset will work on any home phone with a headphone jack , IF you use an adapter.
You simply attach the headset’s plug into the “Headset Buddy RJ9-PH25-Female RJ9/RJ22 to Male 2.5mm Headset Adapter” that is available on Amazon for $15. You then plug the adapter’s plug into your home phone’s headphone jack.
Of course, the headset’s answer and hang up button will not function for calls. You will have to do that on the phone. I also had to adjust the microphone sensitivity knob underneath the cradle for callers to hear me talk.
I can now talk hands free anywhere in the house or yard.

Poor design of Mute and other functions
This headset has good range and good audio quality, but has very poor design of mute and other functions for daily power users. I spent a lot of time on conference calls every day and wish i had gotten a different headset.
The main problem with the Mute function is that there's a red LED light in the front bottom left of the base. It is sunk in behind some shiny mesh design. So the field of view is extremely small. if you're not looking straight at the base at same height level, you can't see that the red light is on. If you're a tall person you could literally be sitting at your desk and yet not see whether the mute is engaged or not. Forget it if you stand up - if you stand up in front of your desk while using headset you can't tell whether Mute function is engaged or not. The simple fix would have been to put an easily visible red light on top of the base unit, so it could be seen from anywhere, instead of burying it on the bottom left.
In addition, there's audio feedback when you engage the mute button (a beep) on your headset. They should also make the beep sounds different when you turn Mute on and when you turn Mute off. Because the beep is exactly the same, I can't tell whether i have engaged or disengaged the Mute. So in summary, good audio and range but Mute is the most basic function for a headset and it is poorly designed on this one.

Works very well. Good sound quality. Good volume. Good range. no lag.

I'm very satisfied with this phone. I had a fear that the headset wouldn't be very loud (something I experienced with a different headset). But I can hear just fine without having to max out the volume. Being wireless, I was worried about a delay between the time I say something and the other person hears it (or vice versa). There is no lag though. It sounds the same as if I was using the wired handset. I tested it calling others to see how I sounded and most could hear me just fine. Only a few said I sounded a little soft.
The range is really good too. I work in a 3 story building with a hallway that is about 170 ft long. My office is on the first floor at the end of the hallway. I was able to answer a call on the 3rd floor at the opposite end of the hall from my office. It was probably the max of the range. But It's good to know that if I have to run down the hallway or go up a floor, I don't have to worry about missing a call.
