The new Nikon D3400 makes it easier than ever to take vibrant, sharp pictures and videos and share them with people instantly. The introduction on smartphones changed the way most people take and share pictures and video. The convenience of having a camera phone with an internet connection meant that people could take a photo or video and instantly share it with friends and family via text messages or social networking sites. However, the trade-off for this convenience is a huge drop in image quality. Using a smartphone camera in low-light environments frequently produces blurry and grainy images while trying to capture an action shot is largely a game of chance thanks to the phone's slower performance. The Nikon D3400 changes all this by giving you the best of both worlds: You get beautiful 24MP images and HD 1080p videos that can be wirelessly transferred to your phone or tablet for instant sharing. The D3400's compact design means it's easy to take anywhere and the swappable NIKKOR lens system allows users to tailor the camera to the shooting environment. This particular camera includes a versatile 18-55mm NIKKOR lens that's great for shooting portraits as well as landscapes and a 70-300mm telephoto lens for shooting subjects from long distances.

Very good deal; very good camera
I did hours of research on which camera would be best to upgrade from my Point-and-Shoot Fuji. Not only did I read Amazon's reviews, but I research photography blogs and Nikon's website to see if this would fit my needs. I then compared it to all the other "bundle" deals from competitors and decided to go with their holiday bundle. So far, I'm glad I did.
I know it was the best deal, because it came with two lenses, plus two batteries and the carrying case - in addition to accessories like lens cleaner.
Now I have to learn it. I do like that Nikon offers some online courses quite affordably - and Nikon has a good support number for questions.
The one thing - as others have noted - I find hard to get used to is that it isn't a touch screen, so when I want to adjust for close-ups, landscapes, etc., I have to use the arrows rather than just touching on it. I hope they will improve that. Also, for some reason the USB won't fit on my MacBook Pro so they recommended I use a smaller cable charger and that works.
So far the photos I have taken have been very good, the battery is easy to recharge and I'm quite satisfied.

32GB card not compatible with camera
Everything is absolutely fantastic with the camera and everything that came with it, EXCEPT for the fact that there is only one memory card, the 16GB one. The 32GB is not compatible with the camera, and when inserting it, tells you "this could damage your device." Not quite happy about that, as it says in the description it comes with 2 memory cards, and the pictures are the same, yet the 32G memory card doesn't even look like the photo. Unless I was given the wrong thing by mistake, the description needs to be changed to reflect the product.

I am not a professional...
By Paul Tillerson
This is the best camera ever! I'm still figuring out everything it can do. I am consistently impressed with the effects and settings and the photos that this camera produces. It is simple and it is the easiest to focus that I have ever owned. Battery life is excellent as well. I am not a professional, but this camera makes it look as though I am.
