Please Read This Before Buying
By Tony C
First of all, I am not some crackpot that writes a bunch of negative reviews. Most of my reviews tend to be positive. If I love something, I will rave about it. If I like something, I will tell you what I like about it. But when something sucks, I will try to warn you away. That is what I'm trying to do now.
I feel less secure having these cameras.
The cameras themselves are okay. Not great, just okay.
The app that you have to use is junk. I would use a more colorful word to describe it, but there might be children reading this.
I bought these cameras to monitor my house. I have been having a problem with a trespasser. I need to get motion alerts and a short video. (The 5 camera stills probably would have been fine if the motion detection actually worked) (More on that later).
I need something that stores briefly on the cloud and lets me move the video clips to permanent storage on my phone when necessary.
I don't know if it's the fault of the camera or the app, but the motion detection is so bad that out of the 50 to 100 cars that pass by my house every day, it has caught 1 car in the last 2 days. It didn't even catch my wife's car or mine when we went to work, came home, or left to go shopping. This is particularly frustrating because I have one of the cameras set up to watch our cars in the driveway and another set to watch the road in front of my house.
I have Despicable Me Stuart Cams by Tend that work far better than the Zmodo cameras.
I will be returning these cameras. I just wish I could get back the time I wasted installing them.

Fios router helpful hint
By Draymond Crawford II
First off I did not buy mine on Amazon, but this info I am passing on can help those that have the newer fios router/modem. I picked this little unit up along with 4 outdoor wifi cameras. I was so disappointed that the camera would not connect through the meshare software, I called customer support to find some kind of solution. I spent 45min on the phone with tech support to no avail. They recommended I send the unit back and issued a RMA. I had the unit boxed and ready to drop it off with FedEx when the other cameras came in, I try to connect those up also, but had the same results. I went back into the router settings and found under the advance settings where you can select the different types of protocols. I was running the WPA2 mix with some other security. I click on the drop down box for that area and found the legacy setting for older devices. Once I selected that security level all of the cameras came to life. If you are not getting a connection through the "meshare" software make sure your router/modem is in the right protocol that is support by the cameras.

Caution, these do NOT record
By Jason L. Seward
Be advised, unless you pay a monthly subscription fee for Zmodo's "cloud service" these do NOT record.
They're monitor cameras at best. Calling them security cameras is a misleading scam.
