By Kevin Hollenbeck
Great range finder for bow hunting (not to be used for long-range rifle hunting or golf...keep reading to see why)! The optic is clear and it ranges accurately in an open field (where I initially tested) and from my tree climber (before I bought this I had my yardage marked with different color engineer tape...this range finder confirmed my measurements and proved that this range finder was accurate). It won't range through branches or brush (even expensive ones don't do that) so you need to range an open area.

This range finder does not have a backlight so if it is dusk or dawn it is difficult to read the yardage marker (since the font is black). However, the rangefinder does work at dusk or dawn so if you have something with light coloring (a corn pile or something) to contrast with you will still be able to read the yardage (the yardage stays on the screen for a couple of seconds so you can range something dark and then swivel to a contrasting color and read the numbers).

It was accurate +/- 1 yd up to 65 yds (that's the max distance I tested because I'm not a good enough shot to shoot any further than that with a bow). Many reviews state that this will not range deer up to 600 yds...that is TRUE...but this range finder isn't meant to range deer up to 600 yds. Look at the photo I attached and you will see that this product is only rated at 200 yds for deer ranging. I'm not sure why this isn't made clear on this page but this range finder won't work for long-distance rifle hunting or golf. And honestly, if you are attempting to shoot deer at 400-600 yds then you should probably invest in higher end range finder. This isn't intended to be a top of the line range finder. This is a budget range finder that works really well for bow hunting.

5Really accurate!! Love it.
By Russ
I got this on one of Amazon's Deal of the Day's Sales and paid $64.99. I could not be happier with a purchase. I have had several rangefinders in my wish list and all but one of the were more then $100. So when this popped I jumped on it. I use it mostly for target shooting and it's perfect for that.
I have an old 150 FT tape so we set our target up at 75 ft and check it with the rangefinder and it said 25 Yards. So we went out to 120 ft and checked it again and it read 40 yards on the money. Then we did one more test at 300 ft which was hard because we were running out of land but we used the tape and got the target set up at 300ft and the rangefinder read 100 yards on the money. Well worth the money and a really cool toy that could be used for measuring property or on the golf course or what ever.

4Good, light little unit.

I am very happy with it so far. Just like the package says, 600 for hard reflective surfaces,ie: house, 400yds tree, 200yds deer.
I tested it at ranges from known yards at 7yds to just over 400yds. It worked great.
Hard to hold steady at long ranges on small things anyway. My goal was for a crossbow and handgun hunting aid.
From what I've seen, for that realistic application, it excels.
Response time for 50yd reads was just a second.
The 4x magnification is a cool feature also, just for scanning. Light gathering is basically nill at legal light though.
