1Does Amazon themselves now carry bootlegs??
By Enrique E.
Ordered my first card (from Amazon LLC themselves, not marketplace); came with no adapter; eh, no biggy. Packaging coloring was a bit faded, and the back of the packaging was in Chinese first, then English. Huh.

Then when I tried to move files into it, it wouldn't take anything more than about 10GB. Photos would be randomly corrupted, and entire folder contents mysteriously vanishing/being deleted (but the folder itself still intact). Also had extremely slow performance; reformatting took 6+ hours!
These are signs of a bootleg card.

Asked for a replacement, and when I got it, wow the packaging was different.
The replacement had:
Front:
-Came with an actual adapter
-The printing is more vibrant, and the big picture in the middle is a thicker sticker than the first card.
-The picture is a tablet, versus a phone on the first card.

Back:
-Correctly labeled as MicroSD XC for a 64GB card on the top right of the back, not MicroSD HC on first card.
-"Ideal choice for premium smartphones and tablets".
-English durability text.
-English-first product description text; no Chinese at all.
-10 year warranty instead of 5.
-Recycling/disposal symbols arranged differently.
-The card is MADE IN KOREA.
-The barcode has more information.

Wow get your stuff together Amazon, what the heck?? How did this get in your supply??
I really don't want to start buying electronics from big box retailers for guaranteed genuine items but this is actually the THIRD time in a row I've gotten a bad card from Amazon (it was a Sandisk before this one), and I'm suspecting the one before was a fake now too since it exhibited the exact same symptoms.

Hope this helps anyone out there and took look out of you get these.

1Did Not Work - Possibly Counterfeit Card - Did Not Work in my Samsung Galaxy S5
By JS402
This card did not work in my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. I thought I'd purchase a Samsung-branded card to go with my new Galaxy S5 phone. What a mistake... I transferred all of my stuff off the old card on to my PC. I removed the old card, I inserted the new card (this Samsung card) into the phone and formatted it. I then attempted to transfer my pictures and music to the new card from the PC. Sounds simple enough, right? I got numerous error messages while attempting to transfer the music over, so I eventually gave up and removed all music from the card. After I transferred the photos, I noticed that most of the pictures appeared as black icons with exclamation points in the phone's Gallery. When I took pictures with the phone (pictures that were set up to be saved to the card), the pictures weren't saved correctly and had issues. On the rare occasion I actually got a picture to save correctly with no issues, I couldn't Share them by text message because I then got an error message indicating that the picture was of an unsupported format. I spent about six hours on the phone with Samsung and at least two hours on the phone with Verizon Wireless. Neither could resolve the issue. I eventually gave up and took the Samsung card out and put another smaller capacity card that I had on hand (purchased at Office Depot), formatted it with the phone and began the transferring of my pictures and music again. After everything was transferred, I checked the Gallery and the Music player. All of my photos and music appear perfectly in the Gallery and Music player. Because I no longer have the packaging, I likely wouldn't be able to return it. Probably won't purchase another card from Amazon because I want to be more certain of what I'm getting. I would have rated it zero starts, but needed to give it one star for the page to allow me to comment on this product. The merchant was Amazon - so I was very surprised that I had this issue. Very disappointed that Amazon would sell something that is potentially counterfeit.

UPDATE: Samsung commented on this review and indicated that I should contact Amazon about this purchase. I did so and Amazon was great - they credited back the purchase price. After rummaging around through things in my home office, I found the original packaging and returned all to Amazon (they provided a pre-paid shipping label). The card I received was made in Taiwan - not Korea. A huge red flag. Thank you Amazon for providing the shipping label and crediting my credit card with the purchase price for this fake card.
