... F&M Sales and it turned out to be a great buy and I saved $30
By Andrew Mason
I recently purchased the Hero 5 from F&M Sales and it turned out to be a great buy and I saved $30! The packaging is literally the ONLY difference with this Hero 5. If you want to save $30 then this is the cheapest Brand new GoPro Hero 5 you can buy. The packaging is factory sealed and includes everything the retail packaging has.

I know I only have had the GoPro Hero 5 Black for only a week but I still gave it 5 stars and I will tell you why. First, the price was unbeatable from Amazon. I bought it from F& M Sales on Amazon for less than anywhere else for a new GoPro. BTW, this is a new item not used or recertified and the like. It is cheaper because it comes in a volume sales type packaging. which is a cardboard box (not the pretty display clear plastic box. Someone said it came with a remote but that was wrong. That's OK because you can use your voice or phone to start recording. I spent a little time watching some great instruction videos on Youtube and I knew enough to use my GoPro for time lapse videos. The free studio app at GoPro.com let me combine 4 time lapse videos and convert to the Facebook/Youtube MP4 format in a mater of minutes. There is a learming curve but once you figure out that you need to look for the blue boxes to progress to the next step, it is easy. I recomend reviewing many youtube videos to learn different ways to use the Camera. Keep in mind that this is not a highend professional camera. Yes it takes 4K video but only 30 FPS and no Video Stabilization. But if you use 2.7 K you get 60 FPS and Video Stabilization which allows for more Video Stabilization using other video editing software on your computer abd end up with an awesome 1080P video. Now who can tell me how many times I used the word Video? The many I save, I use to buy some accessories. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ENH6UJA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This case is small but works and is inexpensive: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QKAJFYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Great camera, few annoyances.
Camera seems to work wonderfully, but I have some complaints. My instruction manual was only in spanish and another language, no english. So I had to look up the instructions online for how to take off the case (first GoPro). Along the way I tried to take the charging door off, and it snapped in the process! GoPro sells this as a replacement part, but its $20. I learned how to take the door off from a YouTube video, and followed the steps but it still snapped. This was probably my fault for not being careful enough, but I shouldn't have to worry about accidentally breaking my charging door off depending on which way I pull it off (especially when the camera as a whole is pretty darn strong). The charging cable is just a teeny 2-3 ft USB cable. Not the end of the world since you can just buy a longer USB cable for cheap, but its still an added expense. Another frustration is that their software can't be installed on Mac OSX < 10.10. I have 10.9.5... This is my fault for not checking, but NO other software I own or buy nowadays has this restriction as I only bought this iMac 2 or 3 years ago. I use Adobe Premier and After Effects, but I would have liked to have a Quik software to process videos straight from GoPro (pun totally intended).
As I said, this camera seems to work great (especially for the low price!). However, you can tell that they design these to a price and then sell you some very expensive accessories. If I bought this at $500 and it included instructions in english, better packaging, a longer charging cable, and a more robust sliding door (or just accessories that are more reasonably priced), this review would be at 5 stars. I'm probably not exactly their target market, as i'd rather pay a little more for those small details to be fixed. Most people are just looking for a super cheap, small, awesome camera.
