On August 21, 2017, millions of people across the US will see one of nature's most amazing spectacles - a total eclipse of the Sun. It is going to be beautiful sight to see; the Moon completely blocking the Sun, daytime becoming a deep twilight, and the Sun's corona glowing in the darkened sky. See the information below to understand, prepare for, and view this rare "must see" event. Eclipse Safety is important when it comes to preparing for the total solar eclipse. Purchasing the correct eyewear to watch a solar eclipse is important. Normal sunglasses will not protect from the intense rays when the moon passes over the sun. Ordering ISO and CE certified eclipse glasses from American Paper Optics is your safest and best bet when it comes to purchasing the right set of eclipse glasses. Eclipse Glasses have special instructions for safe viewing of the eclipse printed directly inside the frame of the glasses. These instructions remind users that you must use approved eye-wear during all partial phases of the eclipse in order to protect your eyes. Have fun!!

Worked perfectly. Got these for the eclipse coming in August. The glasses are a high quality card stock frame with commemorative date printed on them. The lens material passes the ISO safety regulations for direct viewing of rhe sun. As soon as they arrived I went outside and put on a pair to test them out....WOW, I could comfortably look directly at the sun in mid day! The sun looks crisp and deep orange! I then taped a lens over my phone camera lens and took a photo of the sun and it came out well.....although the photo I attached here the color is a bit muted, and the edge of the sun looks blurry....in real life the optics are much better and the sun is strikingly beautiful.

Good for their intended purpose.

I ordered these to have with me for friends and family that might be with us when we see the solar eclipse. I also bought the much nicer Eclipse Shades from Rainbow Symphony for my wife and myself. These pass more light than the thicker Eclipse Shades, which I expected. But, the three pairs of cheap paper shades included with the Rainbow Symphony shades were actually better than these - to my eyes anyway. This was surprising, because I figured the same company made the lenses for all of these paper shades, with just different graphics on the paper. It's quite obvious that this is not the case. In the photo, I used the exact same exposure and you can see that these are brighter (and not as good, in my opinion). These shades are the image on the top. The cheap shades that came with the Rainbow Symphony Eclipse Shades are on the bottom. (FYI: The Eclipse Shades are barely any different from the included cheap paper shades.) Still, I'm giving them 4 stars for the value and their usefulness. They're good, but not great.

They work great. The sun is an orange ball. According to the NASA web site, American Paper Optics is 1 of 3 makers of approved glasses for looking at a solar eclipse.
