1Second Unit - Almost As Bad As the First
By Steven S. Greene
The first unit arrived. Before I even attached any wires to the front poles, I plugged in the unit and turned it on. There was an internal spark, the fan quit, and some blue smoke came out of the vent. So, I figured it was a chance quirk and did an exchange with Amazon for another one.
This one came in. I did the same thing and this time, it worked. So, one-by-one, I used it to power up several of my devices. None of my pieces ran over 20 AMPS standard and none had a peak over 30 AMPS. On the fifth item, wired exactly as the previous four, another spark internally, as well as an arc across the poles. (Please note that the wires on the poles had not been changed or adjusted since the initial item was connected.)
That was the straw that broke this camel's back! I packed it up and returned it to Amazon.
And I'm still looking for an affordable and dependable AC power supply to use with my collection.

5Solid
By Messageman87
This is officially the first piece of what Id consider "test equipment" that Ive acquired and it couldnt be better for whatever I may 12V for.

Hooked it up to a car amp for a quick test and took a picture of the measured voltage output, both DC and AC since another review said there was a large AC signal riding on the DC. The AC voltage reading is in mV on the multimeter.

I havent put it under heavy load yet so I may update the review in the future.

5Great for the money!
By Zack
I put this into service in 6/2016. I am updating this review in March of '17 to say that this has been an EXCELLENT power supply. I wired an hour meter to it from day one to track the time I spend testing equipment. We are at 384 total hours with no issues, and many of these it was operating at 15+ amps.

It's quiet and puts out CLEAN power with no interference.

I don't know why so many people think it's loud. I never really hear it. I suppose if I was locked in a dungeon doing HAM radio in complete silence, I might notice the fan a little more, but that's not my deal. Even when I push it, I can only barely hear the fan over background noise.
