5Great Card, but don't believe the marketing hype from "made for amazon". This is just a standard Micro-SD card
By El Duke
What you need to know about this card and compatibility with other devices:

This Sandisk Ultra Micro-SD is a really high quality card for the money. The description says it’s “made for amazon”, leading you to believe that it’s better suited for the Amazon Fire Tablet than other cards. This is just a marketing ploy. This card is a standard issue Micro-SD card and other well reviewed Micro-SD cards are just as effective. This also means that this Micro-SD card can be used by any device (not just amazon devices) that is compatible with the Micro-SD standard. So don’t be scared of buying this for any other tablets, phones…etc that can take Micro-SD cards.

Speed Classes:

Micro-SD cards (or memory cards in general) are classified by how fast their Read/Write Speeds are. This is important because if you are using a memory card to capture/record high resolution video, you want to get a card that is fast enough to ‘write’ the data onto the card while it’s recording. Now that there are some devices (including some phones) that are capable of recoding 4K video (The highest resolution video currently on the market), high write speed in a card becomes an essential, required feature in a memory card. This specific card is rated as “CLASS 10”. What does this mean? It means that this card has to be able to write/record the data onto the card at the minimum rate of 10MB/sec. That’s really fast for a minimum write speed. If you are buying a memory card to just hold/archive data with, you may not need such a high speed card and can buy a slower card for cheaper. Here are the other Speed Classes Available :

CLASS 4 : Minimum Write Speed of 4MB/sec (slower, but good for low res camera or data archiving)
CLASS 6 : Minimum Write Speed of 6MB/sec (good for most uses except high resolution video capture)
CLASS 10: Minimum Write Speed of 10MB/sec (good for Full HD 1080p resolution video capture)
UHS 1 : Minimum Write Speed of 10MB/sec (But write speeds can be much, much higher than 10MB/sec)
UHS 3 : Minimum Write Speed of 30MB/sec (Excellent for Video Capture … can even do 4K Video Recording)

(Please Note, UHS stands for “Ultra High Speed”)

Conclusion:
Micro-SD cards are made with standards that are strictly set using these speed classes. It means that a good memory card can be used by any device if it’s compatible with the SD standard. Older devices may not be compatible with newer cards with new speed standards such as UHS speed memory cards… or they still may work but not achieve UHS speeds. I hope this was helpful. I know that most average consumers may not understand all the complex speed standards and ratings. Just remember that write speeds and read speeds are two different things. Write speed is how fast it can “write” or record data on the card, and “READ” speed is how fast it can access or ‘read’ the data.

5Super fast, dead easy to install, it works a treat!
By John Ryan
Lucky enough to buy both an Amazon Fire TV and a 7" tablet, I wanted to boost the storage, and this does the job perfectly. Just pop it into the device, and you’ve got Gigabytes of space. A 64Gb card will store 64 billion characters of data or around 94 hours of SD video.

I've included a sequence of photos below showing how to install it in an Amazon Tablet.

In addition to the Amazon Fire range, it will also work in just about any video/SLR camera or tablet computer, and at 45MB/sec it’s incredibly fast. Best of all this also includes an SD card adapter so you can plug it into your laptop to transfer your stuff to a computer.

In terms of fitting it was incredibly easy, just carefully lift off the card cover on the top right side of the tablet and slot in the card. Took me all of two minutes.

How much storage do I need?
======================
It depends, but even a 32Gb SD card will fit enough SD video to watch for over 65 standard definition movies or 94 hours straight. To test this, I downloaded an SD copy of “Shaun the Sheep” to an Amazon Fire tablet, and it used 497 MB. This means:-

32Gb = 11,400 JPG photos or 65 SD or 32 HD movies or 8,000 MP3 songs
64Gb = 22,800 photos or 130 SD or 64 HD movies or 16,000 songs
128Gb = 45,600 photos or 260 SD or 130 HD movies or 32,000 songs

What will it store?
=============
Anything including Video, MP3 music, Photos, Apps, word documents.

What will it work with?
================
Anything. I tried it with a Cannon EOS 700D SLR, a GoPro HERO, an Amazon Fire 7” tablet and my Fire TV. Plug in an SD card adapter, and it even works with your laptop.

What does “Speed Class” mean?
=========================
A card rated at a class 10 “speed class” means it’s fast enough handle recording a full HD video from a camera. This means it should handle more than 10 MB/sec, or ten million bits per second transfer rate. In short, this is fast enough to handle almost anything you throw at it.

How fast is this card?
================
Samsung claim 48 MB/s. I tested this with a USB 3.0 card reader and got:-

Read speed: 46MB/s
Write speed: 15MB/s

Conclusion
========
If you’ve bought a camera, tablet or Amazon Fire TV - buy one of these too.

Highly Recommended.

5Anyone who gets the $49 Fire Tablet needs extra memory - this micro SD is perfect
By The Technologist
Works perfectly in my Dad's new Fire tablet. Now he has enough memory to store his media. Anyone who buys the $49 Fire tablet will need extra memory, and this SD card is a perfect match. All you need to do is insert the SD card into the slot on the tablet instantly recognizes it, there is no formatting needed.
