5Good thing in a small package at a great price!
By Corey340
Pros:
Small size
Powered by HDMI cable
Audio output

Cons:
Does not automatically resize (only passthrough)

I'm planning to buy an inexpensive projector for my music room but since I already have an old Sharp projector, I decided to use it until the lamp quits. Being an old projector, it doesn't have an HDMI (or DVI) input so I bought this port adapter so it would work.

At first, the Sharp showed me a (horizontally) split screen and then I remembered that the projector can't take a 1080p input. Since this adapter will pass through whatever resolution the source has, I had to change the output from my Android TV box to 720p and then it worked! Yay!!

Although the adapter has a micro usb power connection (it comes with a short hdmi to micro hdmi cord), it will take power from the HDMI cable. It also has a 3.5mm mini audio output which also comes with the jack.

While there is no manual, it's pretty much self-explanatory how to use it (no two plugs are the same so they can only go in one way). All in all, in my opinion, it comes with everything you should need to get up and running in less than 5 minutes and most importantly, it works flawlessly!

5Works with ASUS Zenbook! A Great Item to Have!
By Aletheia
I have ASUS Zenbook, but after 3 years, screen's hinge has been broken (this is a common issue with Zenbook models), and I do not want to spend a money to fix the thing, and since I use Zenbook as a desktop, I thought it will be better to remove the screen (easy to do) and use an external monitor (that I have) instead. But Zenbook does not come with VGA port, but HDMI, and since my old monitor does not have HDMI connection, but only VGA, I needed to get an adapter (HDMI to VGA) to use it.

And after researching a little, I found this little gem. And it worked flawlessly with my Zenbook and my old monitor! So if you have a laptop, and the screen is broken or can't be used, then use this little device to connect your laptop to an external monitor! Highly recommended!

4It works.
By Sharon B
It works. We have had difficulty finding converters that work with our ancient VGA projector. We already had purchased a converter from another company which works ok. This is to be a back up in case the first one dies. It has been a challenge using the projector with Windows 10 on HP laptop. The computer and projector connected right away. We do have to drop the resolution as the projector can not cope with the higher resolutions of the newer computers. There is a slight ghost image but we don't think it is a converter problem since it is the same with both this converter and the previous one. Do plan on playing with the screen resolution because initially it may not project at the higher levels.
