By Jon Brown
I have both this HooToo USB C shuttle _and_ a HyperDock. I figured a comparison would be helpful, but let me first say they're both great products each with pluses and minuses depending on your exact use case.

HooToo Shuttle.
Pro: 3 USB Type A ports. I'm shocked how often that I use all three, although as I convert to USB C that'll change
Pro and Con: Flexible attachment. I feel much less likely to "break" things when the HooToo is attached as opposed to the HyperDrive is plugged in, but it's also unwieldily at time and gets pulled out accidentally more easily.
Con: The big one is that pass through power is on 55W, not the full 86W of my power adapter.
Con: no USB C ports

HyperDock
Pro: smaller
Pro and Con: Rigid attachment. I feel it'd be really easy to drop/lever this thing have break things, but it doesn't pull out accidentally like the hootoo
Pro: USB C port
Pro: pass through full power (86W)
Con: USB C port is just that, no displays can be connected to it, only hard drives and the like.

I figure the side by side pictures are as helpful as anything I can say.

In practice I usually carry the HooToo in my bag and I use the HyperDock at my desk... Maybe in another couple months I'll have a real favorite.

5Perfect tool for the dongle life
By Nelson R. Pou
Now have come the days dubbed as the dongle life. With the new mackbook pros switching over to USB-C having a dongle is a must I decided on this Hoo Too Hub and so far I can say I am very pleased. The dongle has 3 usb ports 3.0 and andhdmi port. You have the abilty to charge the computer while using the dongle which comes in very handy for extended use. Overall the adapter feels like very good quality. So far I am very pleased with the outoput and performance of every port.

By BluffGirl
I’ve been using this adapter for about a week now with my MacBook and I haven’t had any issues with any of the ports. I knocked off one star because the adapter does get kind of hot and doesn’t charge as fast as I was expecting. However, these are not big problems for me so I can’t complain much.
