5the thumb sticks are more rugged and have better grip on them
By Nick TK
I have definitely seen multiple improvements with these new PS4 controllers over the older ones. The battery lasts a lot longer, the thumb sticks are more rugged and have better grip on them, L2 and R2 buttons are more springy (good thing), and the thumb sticks also feel way smoother when moving them around. Other things I have noticed is that the buttons are now grey like the throwback controller and there is now a light on the touchpad. Although the last gen controllers are still pretty good, I would definitely recommend the new gen controllers for only $10 more.

4Connection issues with unknown cause?
By NaturalLog19
I needed a new controller since the one I got when PS4s were released has stopped holding a charge and Destiny 2 is out.
Opened the box, placed the controller on my charging station and let it charge for a few hours. Tried to pair it to my PS4 but the light just flashed 6 times. Connected with usb, same result. Tried 3 different cables, both USB slots of the PS4, restarted the PS4, hit the reset button on the controller next to the L2 button, held down the PS button + share button until the lights flashed. Nothing worked. Will be sending this back.

Edit: Changed the rating. I continued to experiment with the controller and figured I would return it in a few days when I drove by UPS. I had ordered a new cable which also didn't solve the connectivity issue, but then a friend brought THEIR new cable over and the controller connected immediately.

So I'm not sure if my PS4 was throwing a hissy fit, or if the controller was being picky about cables, but in the end it did work. However if I have to jump through hoops to KEEP it connected I'm going to start making phone calls to figure out the problem. I'd hate to have to send in my system =/
