1Poorly Functioning Computer and Very Poor Customer Service from Dell

I have had nothing but problems with this computer. The first one I received in December 2015 had a scratch inside the screen and had to be exchanged. The second one, which I received in January 2016, I kept, and I so wish I had returned it right away!

I have had constant trouble with the computer being slow (and getting slower as time went on). The wifi would not stay connected and finally got so bad that I could only work while connected to the internet with an ethernet cord. Very inconvenient! The bluetooth worked inconsistently and then not at all after awhile. The dvd player would never work. Sometimes the computer was so slow that it would hardly work at all, waiting many seconds to get it to respond.

I should have sent it in right away, but I was away on a long vacation. When I finally did call, Dell insisted on trying to fix it remotely. I was reluctant to send the computer in because the computer I replaced was hardly working, and I needed a computer for business daily. The remote sessions took hours of my time, including time I needed to back up all of my work before doing a complete reset of the computer back to factory settings. This all helped some, but it was still way too slow for this expensive of a computer, which greatly interferes with my work. The wifi is still unstable, and I often need to use the ethernet cord to connect and stay connected.

I am waiting for Dell to send the box I need to return this defective laptop for repairs. I had to wait to send it in because I was preparing for and going through a move, which I told them. When I emailed that I now had the computer reset to factory settings again and was ready to send it in, they told me they had closed my case. I now have to start over again by calling and opening a new request. Dell seems to have pretty lousy customer service, which is a big consideration and is very important in my book.

Based on my experience, I would definitely not recommend anyone else buy this computer. It could be that I got a lemon, but the customer service is not good (polite but not very helpful). I am still stuck with a barely functioning computer, and they have my almost $700. The customer service you get it all out of the country (people with foreign accents that are difficult to understand), and their policies for taking care of customers with defective products are very poor. Please save yourself much grief and look at another computer and another company.

As a side note, I had very a poor experience with my previous computer, an inexpensive Lenovo.I thought going with a Dell and a more expensive model would get me a decent computer. This did not turn out to be the case. I don't think I will be buying either a Lenovo (lasted only about a year) or a Dell.

3Charger stopped working.

Bought two of these. So far the laptops have been running as expected, no issues with the functionality. The only thing is the charger of one of the laptops stopped working. And since that laptop was sent to my brother in another country I cannot get it replaced. So just bought another charger, it was like $90 which is so overpriced but that was the only solution for him at the time.

3Hump In Middle Of Keyboard

This is my 3rd Dell, the first thing I noticed was a big hump in the middle of the keyboard - I find that I often have to reboot before it will open up my email program - i have not installed any other software to cause this - its almost like a conflict, then clears when i reboot it. The jury is still out on this one - not massively impressed and I prefer the build quality of my previous Dells ;(
