5Travel Bag does fit with soft case on....
By GOrleans
I ended up getting the Travel Bag from Best Buy only because I had a gift card and Bose prices never really vary. Pricing wise...Bose is Bose, from their own store, Amazon or Best Buy. But I did want to say that the Soundlink with the soft cover on WILL fit inside the Travel Bag. I held off on purchasing the bag for a little while because one reviewer stated the device WOULD NOT fit inside the Travel Bag with the Soft Cover on. That is incorrect. The sides of the bad are a strechable material, but the Soundlink fits with it's cover on just fine without stretching the Travel Bag.

1Useless case, offers no protection.
By Billz
This is a beautiful case, and I especially liked the fact that it has the "Bose" name on it. Unfortunately, it offers no protection for a very expensive product. The case is extremely overpriced, giving the impression that you're buying a quality product that will offer maximum protection, but you're essentially paying for the "Bose" name only. The sides of this case are made of extremely thin, elastic fabric, leaving the front and back of the speaker unprotected. I consistently keep my SoundLink Mini in this case and I'm very careful in handling it. The last time I removed the SoundLink Mini from this case, I noticed two small dents in the speaker grille, near the "Bose" logo on the front. I was heartbroken, since I religiously use this case for protection. Extremely disappointed!

3HOSED BY BOSE: A MINI BAG PRICED THE SAME AS A 2-PIECE LUGGAGE SET!!
By Charles Nordlander
No, that headline is not a joke. Nothing I can say will better describe the overpricing of this bag than this: right here on Amazon, you can buy a 2-piece luggage set with a roll-aboard suitcase for exactly the same price: [My link here deleted by Amazon... not sure why... please take my word for it!]

Now, unlike many who post negative reviews about Bose products, I'm not a hater. In fact, I'd tell you that the Bose Mini Bluetooth speaker that goes into this bag is an outstanding product. Gripe, if you will, about it's $199 price, but once you hold it in your hand, and listen to it, you get why it costs what it does. The materials, craftsmanship and sound quality are all superb.

So it's a shame that in pricing a travel bag--which Bose knows will be seen by many as an essential accessory for a travel speaker--they've decided to shakedown their own customers. Don't get me wrong; it's a nice bag. Materials and construction quality are very good, though nothing extraordinary. It's the fit of both the speaker and charger that mainly distinguish it from cheaper, third party bags that are out there. The fit is perfect, either with or without the soft cover, which is the major benefit of a bag designed specifically for one product.

Ultimately, after checking out the fit of cheaper, competing bags and how they handled storage of the charging unit, I reluctantly decided to cough up the asking price for the Bose case. And "cough up" is the right verb here, as in something unpleasant that's stuck in your throat which you want to expel. You made a sale Bose, but your unhappy customer felt hosed in the process. I hope someone in Framingham, MA is listening.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in making a buying decision.
