Not the quality they used to be
By Amy C
I'm disappointed to write this review. I've been using Amazon Basic micro USB cables for many years. I've never had a problem with them until this year's orders. I ordered a one a couple of months ago. When it first arrived, it was significantly thinner than my previous purchases. It appeared to be of less quality but I gave it a shot because I trusted the Amazon Basics brand since I had been so happy with prior purchases.
Less than a month later, the cable quit working (worn out connector). I thoight I'd order another just in case the one I received was defective. I received the 2nd order Dec 2 and here again, 19 days later, the cable quit charging. Again, it has a bad connector. I gave it a try twice. No more. I would NOT recommend this cable.

Decent cables. Physically well built, but a little low on current carrying capacity.
By Dustin Wehmeyer
Cable is physically well built. Inserts securely and positively on both USB connectors.
Only downside is that the current carrying is a just a little bit on the low side. @1.92 amps, the voltage drops to 4.75v. Which is about the minimum voltage required for USB. My test power supply is capable of supplying over 3A @ >5.0v (tested). Ideally I would like to see 2.1A at no less than 4.9v.
Anyhow these work well enough, I am happy with them.

Stopped Working After One Month (Loose Connection)
By Weird Ralph
Thinking the Amazon name was a good sign, I got these to use with my phone and Kindle. Apparently, these cables don't stand up to any sort of movement whatsoever, because the first one only lasted a little over a month before it stopped working. The second cable is still working, but I'm really careful not to move it at all while it's plugged in. Otherwise, I suspect it'll stop charging as well.
Very disappointed. These cables are not recommended.
Edit: Amazon sent me some replacement cables. They don't work, either. The problem appears to be a loose connection where the plug goes into my phone. The plugs/cables seem to work okay for a few weeks, but then they fail. Luckily, I have other cables that do make a solid connection (which is how I know the problem isn't with my phone).
Edit #2: I've discovered that if you put a very slight crimp in the micro-USB plug, the connection seems to become a lot more reliable. Of course, "very slight" is pretty subjective - and, quite frankly, I don't really recommend that anyone else do this. Just thought I'd add the comment as more confirmation that the problem is in the loose-fitting plug.
