5Love it!
By Amazon Customer
This device was exactly what I needed to connect my laptop to my TV. Just plugged it into my laptop, connected it to an HDMI cord, and plugged the HDMI into the TV . But, I just want to point out that this is NOT a USB to HDMI converter. I will post a picture of the port that it plugs into, because it does not connect to a USB port.

5Smooth Client Meeting
By GoneFishing
Just make sure you want your signal to go from the DisplayPort side to the HDMI side. In my case, it was from HP laptop to HDTV, enabling client to showcase meeting materials. This cable was backup, and long behold, client forgot their own adapter, subcontractor to save the day.

Pros:
+ Best value at $9 price point
+ No extra fluff

Cons:
- Short rigid cabling, you can't bend from left to right side of laptop, and would need to adjust meeting seating depending on cable reach from your projector. Shouldn't be a problem if you have longer flexible HDMI cabling.
- White color already got a scratch mark after 1st use, oh well

5Does its job
By Hastor
Did what I needed. My surround sound system doesn't support HDR with 4k (isn't HDMI 2.0a). My PC and TV do, so I don't want to pass the video through the receiver. My video card has one HDMI output and several Displayport outputs, but TV and receiver are only HDMI. So now I run the video from the HDMI output directly to the TV for 4k HDR, and I use this adapter to run surround sound from a Displayport output to my receiver over HDMI. Problem solved and no need for a new receiver.
